William Joseph “Dard” Hunter (November 29, – February 20, ) was an American authority on printing, paper, and papermaking, especially by hand. Just about every aspect of papermaking is covered in this book. Dard Hunter discusses the history of papermaking from its invention in China to its introductions. Dard Hunter’s Papermaking is the landmark text on the practice and history of turning wood pulp into a woven, writable surface. He traces the history of paper.
