Maybe those would be helpful for you; I find them annoying. It was also gratifying to feel like I already do sonk of the things she thinks are so important. There was a lot of good stuff in here — for one, it started a massive purge of clutter in our house. For me, it must be with prayer – and yes, that has to come even before getting dressed.
Over the course of time reviewing her emails, you can gain a sense of exactly what she’s suggesting, and so figure out what you should be doing to go along with it. The author does admit that everyone’s situation is different, and you will probably have to adapt her suggestions–good, gives me permission not to feel like I’ve failed if I don’t do exactly what she says.

And, suddenly, it all came together for me. I read books like this for fun and for more ideas on how to not miss anything. The thing I liked most about the book is that a significant part of keeping a clean house is about my mentality toward it, and the author reflectoins quite a bit of time focusing on targeting wrong thought patterns that lead to a messy home.

I joined her Yahoo group a few years ago, and did some reading on her website. I started this book at a time when I’ve been thinking, “There’s no way I can possibly finish the PhD thing. I have adopted a few of her ideas when it comes to organizing my cleaning schedule. I have noticed a marked difference in my home and my life since I’ve started implementing th I keep going back to this book again and again. She breaks this down to simple steps that not only include emptying the sink, but explaining how to empty the sink.

There are morning routines, mid-morning routines, early afternoon routines, late afternoon routines, evening routines, before bed routines All the rest of us can just live by its suggestions. The only part that makes me uncomfortable is Cilley’s strong religious beliefs, but the author herself says to take it or leave it. The trouble is, practical applications are going to look a bit different depending on the person and their home.
Just read this again. Quotations, humor, and inspiring testimonials keep us, the reader, moving chapter by chapter, BabyStep by BabyStep, through the process of learning about oneself, our homes, and the peace we will find when the CHAOS is gone.

The author uses her Internet persona of the FlyLady throughout the book, which lets you know from the start that this is a less formal book than you may be There are a lot of things I could quibble about, but overall, I really liked this book and found it helpful.
I am not sorry I read this book, but I doubt I would ever pick it up again, even for reference.

So, I thought I would just get the book and do an offline version myself. Anyway, I kept waiting for new and helpful information. Then I took the time to read your site and said “Oh, I get it.
Do a little refllections of detail cleaning every day, and things won’t pile up on you. A bit Stepford wives. Pat on the back right eink. Too many letters of thanks from happy customers, not enough actual content. I’m not an English major, mind you, but I suppose I thought in book form there would at least be an editing process to remove those typos. I’m now following the email list, and working out how this “system” can work in my own life.
FlyLady teaches us that attitude is everything and that with BabySteps, we, too can find peace in our homes and lives. If I end up trapped watching the kids in my 3 year old’s room, keeping them from making each other cry, then I’ll straighten up his room and put away his laundry and change his sheets, since I am there.
