I can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t –customer service staff, managers, salespeople, parents, you name it As much as we may want to shut down our own Facebook accounts to get back some time and stop stalking people we don’t talk to anymore, we don’t. The author presents his work with a worldly view that at times was weird to hear, as in “reptile brain, mammal brain, human brain”, but when taken in a biblical context, he borrows what God laid out in His word ages ago.
Back cover copy “Goulston provides brilliant yet doable techniques for getting through to others. The same goes for an apology. So how can you know how others perceive you? This really spoke to me, I appreciated the authors tone and ideas.

Following, I briefly address each of Goulston’s nine core rules and twelve quick techniques: Cause people to look up with their eyes and reflect on your question – you’ll make a better connection with them than if your question is transactional.

I just ordered a copy from amazon, this book has so much information that will help me in my personnel life and professional life.
This is where transformative relationships begin to take place. Ironically, it’s what the author himself points out in chapter 19 as a fatal flaw: Provide us the big picture of the persuasion cycle – not too wast time to discuss why this matter. If you’ve yet to explore areas like coaching, emotional intelligence, and communication, I’d give it a read, but wouldn’t expect to be blown away.
